Changelog
What's actually changed, update by update - in plain English, not commit messages. The app also tells you when an update's ready, right in Wayne Bot.
v1.0.21
20 October 2026New
- Added "Something Broke?" - type what's not working (printer, bluetooth, notifications, and more), and it finds the specific tweak responsible and offers to turn just that back on, instead of reverting everything on your system. Find the button above the Wayne Bot chat box, or under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS > Recovery & Safety.
- Added a "Restore Previous Config" button to the Game Config Creator, one click undoes the last config write and puts your previous settings back, instead of having to find and rename the backup file by hand.
- Added Latency Budget (PRO), DPC/driver latency, network ping, and frame render time side by side in one breakdown, instead of checking three separate tools, so you can see exactly where your latency is actually going. Find it under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS > Latency Monitor.
- Added Match Ready Check (PRO), a one-click check of your display refresh rate and network right before you queue up for a match, with a one-click fix if your refresh rate isn't at its max. Find it under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS > Gaming.
- Ask Wayne Bot about FPS, stutter, or your network now checks your own real session data first (actual DPC/driver spikes, your real stutter breakdown, your own ping/jitter), and flags any ticked tweak your own Tweak Verification Lab history already proved made things worse, instead of giving everyone the same generic advice.
- The main window's RESTORE button is now RESTORE & BACKUP, with a direct link to a real Windows Backup/Restore Point, no need to dig through Settings yourself.
- Added Network Route History (PRO), a real ping/jitter/loss summary logged every time a scanned game session ends, kept for 90 days, grouped by game and by time of day, so you can see whether your connection is actually worse for a specific game or at a specific time, not just a feeling.
- Added the Game Storage Advisor (PRO), which real drive each scanned game is actually installed on, that drive's real media type, free space, and whether your pagefile shares it, plus how much of your last session's stutters correlated to a real disk stall.
- Added the Sensitivity Vault (PRO), converts your mouse sensitivity between CS2, Apex Legends, Valorant, Call of Duty: Warzone, Battlefield 2042, and Rainbow Six Siege, keeping a 360° turn the exact same physical mouse movement in both. Only includes games with a real, verified conversion constant.
- Added Emergency Restore, one-click resets for things beyond GoldCore's own tweaks: your network stack, your power plan back to Windows' Balanced default, or undo your whole last session in one click. Find it under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS > Recovery & Safety.
- Added the Display Motion Lab (PRO), your real refresh rate and VRR status together, plus a genuine moving test pattern for judging ghosting/tearing with your own eyes, the same idea sites like TestUFO are built around.
- Added the groundwork for a Tweak Expiry System, nothing user-visible yet, a tweak can now be marked with the Windows build it was last verified against, and GoldCore will nudge you to re-check it if your build has since moved on. No tweak has this set yet, it's infrastructure for future sessions to build on tweak by tweak, not a guess.
- Added Game Guardian (PRO), back up a game's real save/config folder and restore it if a corruption or cloud-sync conflict ever clobbers your progress. You point at the real folder yourself (GoldCore suggests common locations if they genuinely exist, never guesses blindly), and restoring always safety-backs-up whatever's currently there first, so it's itself undoable. Find it under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS > Gaming.
- Added a Clean Capture Window hotkey for the Post-Game Report: press it once after a map finishes loading and again right before the next one changes, as many times as you like in a session, so loading screens don't drag your FPS averages down. Set it in Settings > Recording & Overlay.
Fixed
- Fixed the Game Config Creator writing to the wrong folder for several games (Apex Legends, CS2, Quake, Soldier of Fortune 2), so it now actually reaches the real game config file.
- Fixed Battlefield's config only being correct for Battlefield 2042, now scoped so it doesn't apply the wrong settings to other Battlefield titles.
- Removed two CS2 network commands Valve removed from the game back in 2023, they were no longer doing anything.
- Cyberpunk 2077 config writing is temporarily turned off, it was producing a file the game couldn't actually read correctly.
- The Game Config Creator now checks the game isn't running before writing (so it can't get silently overwritten), and keeps a timestamped backup of your previous file every time instead of a single one that got overwritten on repeat use.
- Fixed the device affinity setup prompt (the one about pinning your mouse, keyboard, GPU, audio, and network interrupts to their own CPU cores) not asking for Administrator rights first, so clicking its one-click button on a non-elevated PC could silently fail and then not ask again for months. It now asks you to relaunch as Administrator if needed, and the prompt's text now reflects exactly which devices are and aren't already covered, instead of assuming.
- Fixed the Post-Game Report's 1% low sometimes including the first few seconds of a map/menu loading, which could unfairly drag the number down below what you actually saw in-game.
- Fixed the device affinity inspector showing the wrong physical core count on some CPUs.
- The manual CPU core pickers now warn you before letting you assign Core 0, since Windows reserves it and that's not a good idea.
- Fixed the Backup & Restore window's Help button opening the wrong topic.
- Fixed a broken product link for some Scan/Newegg results in PC Builder.
- The CPU Affinity panel now updates live when a scanned game launches or closes, instead of needing to close and reopen the window to see the change.
v1.0.20
10 October 2026New
- Added a Startup Scan Breakdown window, showing exactly what GoldCore does in the first 25-30 seconds after launch and how long each part took, so a brief CPU spike on startup has a real explanation instead of a guess. Find it under MENU > SYSTEM TOOLS > TOOLS.
- The installer now tells you upfront: it's 71 out of 71 clean on VirusTotal, zero detections, including Windows Defender, Kaspersky, Norton, McAfee, Avast, AVG, and Bitdefender to name a few of the big ones. That's not us saying it, test any release yourself at virustotal.com, any time. Kaspersky does point out that GoldCore uses Win32 networking capabilities, the driver behind real features like DDoS protection, port-scan protection, and bufferbloat shaping, but it's not flagged as a virus or malware there either, so it can never come as a surprise.
Fixed
- Fixed crash recovery not covering several less common situations - a crash during scheduled maintenance, Gaming Max auto-apply, the Benchmark Wizard, or restoring an older session from history previously left nothing for the recovery screen to find on next launch.
- Fixed a rare crash-risk in spike detection and the in-game overlay under heavy background activity.
- Fixed the installer leaving the bundled Tools folder (NetGuard, Process Manager, Latency Monitor) behind after uninstalling.
v1.0.19
7 October 2026Improved
- Improved resource cleanup for Game Recording, Instant Replay, and Live Streaming if ffmpeg ever exits unexpectedly mid-session.
v1.0.18
6 October 2026New
- Added a "Gaming Only" mode for every Windows-service tweak (Search Indexing, SysMain, Print Spooler, and more) - the service now only gets disabled while a scanned game is actually running, and goes back to normal the rest of the time, instead of being off permanently. Replaces the old, separate Pre-Game Cleanup auto-stop toggle.
Fixed
- Fixed per-game CPU/device affinity sometimes overriding a manual pin you'd set yourself, which could cause your network adapter to briefly drop and reconnect at the start of a game session.
- Fixed a tweak's info popup sometimes covering other tweaks above it when hovering a long one near the bottom of the list.
- Fixed a Wayne Bot feed message repeating itself every time you applied or reverted a tweak, which could noticeably increase CPU usage the longer a session went on.
Improved
- Faster, lighter startup - the tweak list now builds each category as you open it instead of building all of them up front.
v1.0.17
1 October 2026Fixed
- Fixed the in-app "what's new" popup not actually showing for the last two updates. This version brings it back and covers everything from both.
v1.0.16
1 October 2026Fixed
- Fixed Memory Temp continuing to show your last reading even after turning RAM temperature monitoring off in Settings, instead of correctly showing no reading.
- Fixed Wayne Bot sometimes reporting a device's CPU core assignment as applied, or later as reverted, when it was actually skipped because that specific device couldn't be detected.
Improved
- Refreshed the gold and purple styling across every window's title bar to match the main app window.
v1.0.15
30 September 2026Fixed
- Fixed a real gap in the Tweak Verification Lab: a small number of higher-risk performance tweaks could be test-run there without the usual extra confirmation step or live safety monitoring that protects them everywhere else in the app. Those tweaks are no longer offered for testing at all.
v1.0.14
27 September 2026New
- A live CPU-temperature safety net for a couple of advanced timing tweaks: GoldCore now checks your CPU's own real thermal limit while they're switched on, and automatically turns the tweak back off if you get close, with a heads-up in Wayne Bot and an optional voice alert.
- GoldCore now checks your actual CPU before recommending certain advanced timing tweaks - if your specific hardware won't see the claimed benefit, it tells you plainly instead of showing the same generic warning to everyone.
Fixed
- Fixed a startup slowdown that could show unusually high CPU usage for a few seconds right when the app opens.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when reopening the app from the tray icon at the same moment it was closing.
- Fixed the PRO badge not updating right away after activating a licence key - no more needing to restart the app to see it.
Improved
- Gave the whole tweak catalog a fresh compatibility review. A small number of low-level tweaks that only really paid off on specific older hardware, with real driver-compatibility risk on newer systems, are no longer included in any preset to keep every preset solid across a wider range of PCs. A couple of advanced settings that could get stuck partway through with no progress shown are also no longer included in any automatic bundle.
- Rewrote the warnings on a couple of advanced tweaks to be clearer about the real tradeoffs involved, instead of downplaying them.
- Smaller download and install size.
v1.0.13
26 September 2026Fixed
- The update icon and the "update available" chat notification were opening the wrong window entirely - now they jump straight to the real Updates screen and check for you automatically.
- Fixed a real crash: plugging in a USB drive while GoldCore was running could, in some cases, crash the app.
- Fixed two crash risks in Game Chat - creating a room, copying an invite, or pasting an image could crash the app if another program (a clipboard manager, a screenshot tool) happened to be using the clipboard at that exact moment. Now fails gracefully with a clear message instead.
- Reworded a confusing startup message that made it sound like 23 tweaks were missing/unbuilt - they were never missing, they just can't have their current on/off state detected automatically yet.
v1.0.12
24 September 2026New
- Sound and network core assignment now applies live, no reboot needed, the moment a scanned game launches, and reverts back the moment it closes. Mouse and keyboard update the same way but take effect at your next reboot (restarting an active input device mid-game risked real cursor desync, so it's applied safely instead of live). GPU stays reboot-only too, restarting a display driver mid-game is too risky to automate.
- The CPU & Device Affinity Manager is now one screen instead of split across two windows: apply or restore the full recommended core map, check for driver drift, toggle the Auto-Affinity Watcher, and pin individual devices by hand, all in one place.
- The Apply Full Core Map/Restore buttons, and per-device manual pinning, now also take effect instantly instead of always needing a reboot.
- Wayne Bot now gives a one-time nudge if your device core map has never actually been applied.
Improved
- Tweak count is now 256 (was 251) - found 5 tweaks that were quietly bundling more than one distinct setting under a single name and split them into separate, individually-listed tweaks. A more accurate number, not a bigger one for its own sake.
- The custom-affinity overwrite prompt now shows the real current/recommended core data instead of a vague message, and no longer uses a popup that can lose focus behind a fullscreen game.
- Shows whether, and when, GoldCore has actually locked in each device's core assignment, instead of just raw state with no history.
- Rewrote the in-app CPU affinity help docs and the website's affinity guide for clarity - the sound device was missing before, and a "storage" reference that was never real got removed.
Fixed
- Fixed the real cause of a Click & Game freeze some users hit: registry writes had no timeout at all, so one that hung could freeze the whole apply. Restore-point creation and the post-failure recovery check had the same gap, fixed too.
- Fixed ARIA's feed growing without limit over long sessions, which could eventually freeze input.
- Fixed a wrong CPU physical-core count on some systems that could send a device's affinity to the wrong core entirely.
- Fixed a mismatch between the physical core numbers shown in the affinity map and the real logical processor numbers Windows uses when comparing/displaying affinity.
v1.0.11
20 September 2026New
- Wayne Bot's help reply now has an Open Settings button, so you don't have to go hunting through the menu for it.
Improved
- Massively expanded the list of games GoldCore recognises for per-game CPU core assignment - dozens more current titles, plus a set of verified classic 90s/2000s single-threaded engines, each individually checked so a modern multi-core sequel can't get mistaken for its old single-core original.
- Multi-core games now default to broad CPU access rather than a narrower slice, with documented exceptions for the handful of titles that specifically conflict with it (e.g. Battlefield 6's anti-cheat).
- CPU core assignment for a newly-detected game is now applied a few seconds after launch instead of instantly, giving the game room to actually finish starting up first.
- Toned down the Quiet/History/Clear buttons in Wayne Bot so they don't visually compete with the main actions.
- Fixed the hamburger menu's background colour and gold divider looking mismatched against the rest of the UI.
- The "Update Available" notification and the update buttons in Settings now take you straight to the Update Manager instead of a generic Settings page.
Fixed
- Fixed Counter-Strike 2 being incorrectly classified as a single-core game and limited to one CPU core - it now correctly gets full multi-core access like other modern titles.
- Fixed a couple of odd CPU core-count layouts silently dropping devices instead of falling back cleanly.
- Fixed the in-app version check reading the wrong internal version number after the app's protection step runs.
v1.0.10
19 September 2026New
- AMD Radeon Settings Guide - the same in-app walkthrough GoldCore already had for NVIDIA users, now covering Radeon's own settings (Anti-Lag, Radeon Chill, Image Sharpening, and more).
- New tweaks: Disable Chrome Hardware Acceleration, Disable Epic Games Launcher Autostart, Clean Up WinSxS Folder (frees up disk space from old Windows Update files), and Disable Google Update (Chrome's background updater service).
- New BIOS Guide entry: Disable Spread Spectrum, with the real menu path for Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, and ASRock boards.
Fixed
- The "Receive Side Scaling" network tweak no longer fails every Apply on network adapters that don't actually support it - it now just skips itself gracefully.
Improved
- Redrew the recommended 8-core CPU layout: single-core game engines get a dedicated core of their own, and mouse input now gets isolated to its own core too.
- Some tweaks now tell you exactly what happened when they succeed, not just when they fail.
v1.0.9
15 September 2026Changed
- All three standalone apps now carry their own real copy-protection, instead of relying only on the main app's.
v1.0.8
14 September 2026New
- Three standalone companion apps - the same real protection and monitoring GoldCore already has, now available as their own separate, lightweight apps you can run without opening the full program:
- GoldCore NetGuard - Bufferbloat Shaper, DDoS/UDP reflection filter, Gaming Lockdown Firewall, and connection diagnostics (MTU test, packet loss, traceroute, DNS speed comparison), plus the full Router Guide below.
- GoldCore Process Manager - set CPU priority and core affinity for any running program, not just scanned games, with saveable rules that automatically re-apply every time that program launches, even ones that weren't running yet when you set the rule up.
- GoldCore Latency Monitor - live driver-level (DPC/ISR) stutter detection, the same technology PC hardware reviewers use, with a plain-English session report telling you exactly which driver is costing you frame time.
- Router Guide expanded from 11 to 25 routers/ISPs and firmwares - added TalkTalk, EE, Plusnet, Vodafone, Zen Internet, Linksys, D-Link, Belkin, Google Wifi/Nest Wifi, Amazon eero, Ubiquiti UniFi, MikroTik, and GL.iNet, plus real firmware-flashing steps and risk warnings for OpenWrt, Asuswrt-Merlin, and FreshTomato.
- Refresh rate check - GoldCore now reads your monitor's real supported refresh rates on every scan. If Windows has it set lower than the display can actually do, Wayne Bot flags it and offers a one-click fix - the same "keep these settings?" confirm-and-auto-revert safety net Windows itself uses, so a bad mode can never leave your screen stuck.
- Per-game refresh rate switch (Games window, off by default) - automatically switches to your monitor's max refresh rate the moment a scanned game launches, and back to your normal desktop rate the instant it exits. For anyone who runs their desktop at a lower Hz on purpose but wants the max in-game. Raises the ceiling, not a fixed rate - with G-Sync/FreeSync on, your actual refresh still tracks your FPS underneath it.
- New By Game Type page - how tweaks actually help FPS/shooters, battle royale, MOBA/RTS, MMORPGs, flight/space/VR sims, racing, and fighting games differently, plus a full plain-English breakdown of FPS vs. refresh rate, frame time, and input lag with real numbers.
Fixed
- GoldCore now opens its window automatically the first time you launch it after an update, instead of quietly going to the system tray - so you actually see what's new.
- Fixed the "What's New" popup not showing after an update on most launches.
- The website's mobile menu no longer overflows the screen, and every page's menu now includes a link back to Home.
Changed
- Corrected the real tweak counts shown on the website to match what's actually in the app.
v1.0.7
9 September 2026New
- Uninstall Apps - a new section with 20 individual one-click removals for Windows bloatware (Solitaire, Skype, 3D Viewer, Xbox App, and more), each its own switch instead of one all-or-nothing toggle.
- Backup & Restore - registry backups, Windows Restore Points, and your app settings, all in one place.
- Added a CHANGELOG entry to the main menu, and a link straight to this page from the in-app Release History.
Fixed
- The MTU test no longer tells you to "change your MTU from 1492 to 1492" when it's already set correctly.
- MTU Test and Traceroute windows no longer stay open after closing GoldCore.
- "Disable NIC Power-Saving Features" (and Interrupt Moderation) no longer fails with a false timeout on slower adapters/systems.
Changed
- Voice Command and Game Config Creator are now PRO features. Talk-to-Text stays free.
Improved
- Hovering a greyed-out tweak now tells you why it's greyed out, right at the top of the popup.
- Restyled tooltips app-wide, and the update screen now shows real live progress instead of a blank wait.
v1.0.6
8 September 2026Fixed
- Real crash fixed: a "System Error - Exception Processing Message" crash some testers hit, most often right after an NVIDIA driver update and waking the PC from sleep. The window's sizing code was trusting a value Windows hands it that, in that specific situation, could turn out invalid - it now checks before trusting it.
- Added a one-click "this is still just me" link to the multi-device licence warning email - a genuine PC/motherboard swap, VPN, or mobile hotspot no longer has to wait out the warning period or email support to clear it.
- Fixed a crash when exiting from the system tray icon while a confirmation popup (pending tweaks, or the timer-resolution warning) was still open behind it.
- Fixed the installer showing a redundant, confusing second EULA screen right after Finish - closing it used to silently close the whole app with no explanation.
Installer
- Added a proper explainer page for the optional PawnIO sensor driver, so it's clear what it is and that it's safe to skip.
- New look - the installer now uses the app's own gold-chip branding instead of the default grey wizard.
Changed
- Game Wall, League Organizer, Game Chat, Benchmark Wizard, BIOS & Router Guides, and Overlay HUD/Instant Replay (including Stutter Black Box) are now PRO features. Voice Command, Talk-to-Text, and Game Config Creator stay free.
Improved
- Redesigned Wayne Bot's action buttons - more solid, less pixelated edges.
- Renamed "Aggressive Latency Mode" to "Ultra-Low Latency Mode" so it's clearer what it actually does.
v1.0.5
7 September 2026New
- New SECURITY section in the menu - Hardware Change Alert, USB Device Alert, and DDoS Protection now live together in one place instead of scattered across Settings and Router Tweaking.
Fixed
- Critical: a stuck driver-repair step could get force-closed on timeout, which was the real cause behind a boot-repair issue a user hit - it's now left to finish properly instead.
- Fixed the app sometimes not auto-starting with Windows on some setups.
- Fixed the Tweak Verification Lab reporting inaccurate 1% low numbers on faster systems.
- Fixed the FPS counter dialog disappearing behind fullscreen games, and it now remembers your answer instead of asking every time.
- Fixed the tweak list's scrolling occasionally jumping past a category you had open.
- Several other real bug reports from beta testers, fixed or confirmed not to be app issues.
Improved
- Renamed GOD TIER to ELITE TIER, with a redesigned tier badge and PRO upgrade button.
- Reworked the Help window with real, up-to-date content and a redesigned Settings page.
- Cleaned up the main menu, top bar, and network tools based on feedback.
- "ESPORTS" mode no longer force-includes "Aggressive Latency Mode" - it's a genuinely different kind of tradeoff (raises baseline heat/power, not just under load), so you choose it yourself now instead of it being switched on automatically.
